NJHS Meeting Q & A
When and where are the monthly NJHS meetings? Monthly meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month in Marlin Hall.
What are the specific upcoming dates for the meetings so I can put them on my calendar? These dates will be made available at our first meeting in September.
What are Special Planning Sessions? These meetings can be called by the Executive Council if there are chapter issues that need special attention. We have committees that meet to work on different projects during the year. These meetings are scheduled and announced in advance so that all members can work on projects if they want to do so.
How do I know about upcoming meetings? Check out this user friendly website anytime! Talk to other members! Come by and see Mrs. Lewis in DC #201! Listen to the morning announcements for reminders. Check out the NJHS column in the montly Principal's Newsletter too.
Is attendance a membership requirement? Yes! Attendance is mandatory at all general assembly meetings. Your input is important and necessary for the success of NJHS at MRMS!
What do I do if I miss a mandatory meeting? If you cannot attend a mandatory meeting, you will need to provide me with a written parent note within a week of the meeting in order to receive an excused absence. An email from your parent will also be acceptable.
What do I do when I return to school after missing a mandatory meeting? You are responsible to know what was covered at the meeting you missed. Contact an Executive Member or come by and see Mrs. Lewis during the school day. You can also check out this user friendly website for updates!

Cape St. Claire Elementary School Market Days, see dates below
Individual Service Hours - Market Day is a fundraiser that Cape St. Claire Elementary School conducts on a monthly basis. The food/products are delivered to the school once a month and they need volunteers to help unload the truck, sort the products by category, perform counts, and fill orders. The time frame is flexible; they are willing to take any help they can get. The truck arrives at the school at 4:45 PM and they are normally finished filling orders by 6:15 PM. The more help that shows up, the faster things go! The schedule is as follows:
Tue 9/22/09
Tue 10/20/09
Tue 11/17/09
Tue 12/15/09
Tue 1/26/10
Tue 2/23/10
Tue 3/23/10
Tue 4/27/10
Tue 5/25/10
Tue 6/22/10
Dates are subject to change, although they ususally don't. The truck comes about 4:30-4:45 and it is unloaded, orders are counted, and then orders are filled for customer pick up. Pick up times are 5:45 thru 6:45. Volunteers are useful during any of this time although the unloading and counting and filling is most needed.
Please call Brenda Hall with the Cape St. Claire Market Day Program if you have any questions at 410-991-3004 or you would like to earn individual service hours by helping out with this effort.
