
Grade 6-2 Reading Homework
Monday, September 14 - Write all vocabulary words 3 times each. I will collect your work tomorrow. Reminder: 6-2 goes to book fair tomorrow.
Monday, September 21 - Write each incorrectly spelled word from Friday's test 5 times each the correct way. Complete Vocabulary book page 12 #12-20. Be sure you are ready to work on your poetry project in Library and Art classes this week.
Tuesday, Sept. 22 - VOCABULARY: Study definitions of words in Unit one for test on Friday. READING: Write each word and all its definitions for new story (portfolio, exhibition, imaginary, slashes, stubborn, stern, gravely). Use the glossary in your Reading book for definitions.
Wednesday, Sept. 23 - Study vocabulary words in Unit One for definitions test on Friday. Be sure you can spell the words correctly.
Tuesday, Oct. 6 - Complete synonym section in vocabulary, pages 17 and 18.
Wednesday, Oct. 7 - Complete pages 18 and 19 in your vocabulary book. Study definitions and spelling of words for test on Friday. Complete workbook pages 173 and 174 for Reading. Be sure you bring your reading textbook home to look for answers.
Monday, October 12 - Vocabulary -Write each word from Unit 3 three times. Be sure you write on looseleaf and put a correct heading on your paper. Reading workbook - Complete pages 175 - 177. Get vocab test signe and poetry assessment signed. Reading test on "Art Must Be True" and poetry will be on Wednesday this week.
Tuesday, October 13 - Study for reading test tomorrow. Know your vocabulary from the story "Art Must Be True." Be able to write the definition of "narrative poetry." Be sure you can write the answers to questions about why Maria did not want to draw her apartment and what her mother thought about the picture that Maria first drew. Be able to label a rhyme scheme. Test will also include analogies.
Tuesday, October 20 - Study for vocabulary definitions test. Test will be tomorrow.
Wednesday, October 21 - This homework is due Monday, Oct. 26. Copy each word into your reading notebook. Write all definitions that are given for the word from the dictionary in the back of your reading book. The words are: heritage, traditional, ancestors, revive, collectors, recover, mission, prejudice.
Monday, Oct. 26 - Get test results signed. Complete vocab. pages 25 and 26. Read pages 468-476 in reading book.
Tuesday, Oct. 27 - Write each vocabulary/spelling word in Unit 4 six times.
Friday, Oct. 30 - Answer questions 2, 3, 4, and 6 at the end of the story "Pueblos and Pow-Wows" on page 477. Write answers in your reading notebook.
Tuesday, Nov. 3 - Complete Antonym section in Vocabulary p. 34. Definitions test on Friday. Study!!!!
Wednesday, Nov. 4- Complete vocabulary page 35. Write the definitions of any 10 words from Unit 4. STUDY FOR VOCAB TEST ON FRIDAY!!!
Monday, Nov. 9 - Write each new vocabulary word from Unit 5 three times. (p. 35) Get test results paper signed and return it tomorrow.
Wednesday, Nov. 11 - Get your reading test signed. Write the definitions for the new vocab words for the story C.L.O.U.D.S. Study for your spelling test on Friday.
Friday, Nov. 13 - In your Reading notebook write definitions for words #1-10 Unit 5 page 36. Complete workbook page 186.
Monday, Nov. 16 - Complete vocab. book pages 37, 38, and 39 (sentences and synonyms, not antonyms). Copy definitions for vocab words #11 - 20 from pages 36 and 37. If you have spelling test corrections to make, write corrections 5 times each.
