INTRO FRENCH ( 7th grade)
This class meets every other day all year during period III. Plase be sure to label your agenda book with White and Blue day in order to be ready for this class.
Students use the textbook and activity book " Discovering French Nouveau Bleu". Students will be provided with a workbook that will be used both at home and at school . The textbook can be accessed on line.
Students will learn to read, write , understand and speak French on a variety of topics . Students will become familiar with the culture and the traditions of the numerous francophone countries . They will watch and discuss videos , they will read magazines and some book extracts , they will make and eat delicious crepes....
MATERIALS NEEDED EACH CLASS:
French binder ( with 4 dividers)
Pencil ; Blue or Black Pen; one box of markers; a glue stick and a pair of scissors.
Workbook (this is given free of charge)
GRADING :
Readiness : 5% ( i.e. Students come to class on time and they have their book, supplies, partecipation paper and homework ready to be checked )
Homework consistency : 10 % ( Homework is checked at the beginning of each class)
Class participation : 20 % ( Students contribute or attempt to contribute to class discussion in French . Students are asked to keep a "participation paper" in their binders at all times. This partecipation paper records how many points students receive during each marking period )
Anne Arundel County Assessment ( one per marking period ): 10 %
Other assessments : ( quizzes, tests , projects, skits etc.) : 55%
Students will learn to discuss and write in French about their family, their daily routine, their school etc..
