Think WIN-WIN

  1. Have students get into a circle.
  2. Discuss the purpose of thinking positively and how it is necessary.

Key Things to Remember :

~ With a positive attitude, one can get more accomplished

~ When one has a positive attitude and thinks Win-Win, everyone wins.

~ When everyone wins, then more can be done faster.

  1. Have the students name some Pros and Cons of Thinking Win-Win.
  2. Discuss Questions

~ What is hard for you?

~ Do you find the good in everything and learn from it?

~ If not, why are some things more difficult than others to find the good in?

~ Ask students to really think about their life and try to imagine their life if they thought positively and with a win-win attitude.

~ How would their lives be different? Good, Bad?

Part III Everyone-Can-Win-Attitude (Teacher Advisor)

o       Identify 3 key relationships in your life and indicate what you feel the balance is in each of the relationships.

  1. Start with Lose-lose

Ø      Lose-Lose is when both parties ultimately lose and there is no winner.

Ø      Read the “Cookie Thief”

  1. Move on to Win-Lose

Ø      Win-Lose is when one is only looking to win for them and does not care if others lose.  Have them answer questions on worksheet.

  1. Go on to Lose-Win

Ø      Lose-Win is when one allows others to win even if it means they lose.  Have them again answer questions on worksheet.

  1. Finish with Win-Win

Ø      Win-Win is when everyone involved wins.

Ø      Have each student write their names on a scrap piece of paper and put them all in a hat or container of some kind.

Ø      Pass the container around and have each student draw one name.

Ø      Once everyone has a name, have them locate that individual whose name they have and have them pay that student a compliment.

Ø      Make a list of obstacles that keep you from applying the Win-Win attitude more often.

Part IV   Career Portfolios (Student Leader)

  1. Pass out the folders to each student and have them remove their Career Portfolios.
  2. Give the students at least five minutes to complete what they can in the Portfolio.
  3. Discuss and answer any questions that the students may have.
