Thank You Seniors:

A letter from Mr. Engel-Leadership Coordinator

It is a great honor to have taught many of you and I will have

many fond memories of the class of 2001. I would like to thank

the Leadership Students for all their hard work over the past two

years, especially Ashley Carter and Darrin Brozene who have

been the two guiding lights behind the leadership program. I'd

also like to thank Tom Franklin for creating the Human Rights

movement at Kent Island High School. I'd like to thank Monique

White as the editor of SeniorThankYou.com has created and

developed something completely innovative. Will Hemsley for

being a rock of strength and leadership for these past 2 years.

Katie Parks for providing grace and inspiration to our leadership

program. Ryan Cornwell, who has come further than any other

student towards achieveing excellence, Anna Borders for making

everyday better just by showing up, Jerrod Hines for a work ethic

that is unmatched and for never quitting until the job is done.

Scott Schreiner, for all his hard work with the Leadership Club.

coming through for me at the Maryland High School Leadership

Conference, and finally to Liza Patchell, who shows me more

courage every day, than I have ever seen of anyone in a

lifetime. Good Luck Seniors!!!!!

A letter from Mrs. Kaye Dutrow: English Department Coordinator:

As the first full class to graduate KIHS you have set standards

for the underclassmen to follow. You've deminstrated leadership

in academics, sports, music, art, and drama

I have some wonderful memories of your class: Jesus's comments

about my shoes, Forrest's hair, Cathleen's poetry, andrea's

embroidered Scarlett Letter, Monique's kind words, sean and

Brent and the stuff on the floor. Tina's patience for sitting next

to Sean and Brent, Tara's books. Wes's pronunciation of my

name, Joey's drawings and videos with David, Valerie's

outstanding artistic ability, Grasonville Headstart, The

Achievement Challenge and the great trophy caper.

A special thanks to my AP classes this semester. It was a

pleasure.....

Best wishes to the class of 2001.

Mrs. Dutrow

A letter from Senior Thank You Editor-Monique White

I first of all would like to give thanks to God for withthout him

there is no me and I would not have made it this far. I can't

believe that the time to walk the stage has come so soon.I would

like to thank the lady responsible for and who has played a great

role in my success my mother Mrs. Annette Watkins. I would like

to thank my mom for always encouraging me to strive for what I

believe in.

A letter from SGA president Katie Parks:

As I take the time to reflect on the last four years there are so

many people I have to thank. Through the years so many people

have played such an important role in my life, each helping to

shape the person I have become today.

I would like to start with my parents. Thank you for always being

there for me, providing support and guidance. Next those special

teachers who helped make each day a little brighter. Mr. Jackson,

your enthusiasm and spirit are an inspiration to all your

students. You helped make each day at Kennard a little more

special. Thank you for your encouragement and support. Ms.

Diollard, you always made computer class a little more exciting. I

see you not as my teacher but as a friend. Thank you for always

being there with an ear to listen. Finally, Mr. Engel you have

taught me so many lessons over the last two years. Your faith in

my abilities has helped me to achieve so many things this year.

Finally the hard part, thanking my friends. I would like to start

with the "girls" Katie, Anna, Rita, Jessica, and Stephanie. We

had some great times in Middle School and although we have all

gone our separate ways, I will always carry the wonderful

memories. You each mean so much to me, thank you for always

being there. Good Luck in everything you do! To my officers;

Jason, Rita, Tim, Jen, Will, and Matt, you guys are the best.

Thank you for the support this year, I couldn't have done it

without you. You all have had a wonderful impact on this school.

Katelyn, I have always looked to you as a friend, but also as my

sister. We have spent our entire lives together, experiencing so

many things. I have never gone through anything without you by

my side. Words aren't enough to express my gratitude to you for

everything! Kelly, you are my girl. Thank you for all the

memories, the good times, the advice, and so much more. I have

always been able to turn to you no matter what. I appreciate you

always being there for me. Can't wait till this summer! Cathleen,

everyone needs at least one friend that will always tell them how

it is, give them that reality check. You have always been the one

to bring me back to reality, thank you for all the great times we

had (the blizzard). Good luck next year! Mike, although things

have changed and we don't get to spend as much time together,

you still mean the world to me. I am always here for you.

Samantha, girl, i don't know what I ever did before this year. The

support and generosity you have shown me are overwhelming.

Thank you for your friendship, wisdom, and just plain craziness.

Steph, I am so thankful that we have become so close over the last

year. Thank you for always being there with an ear to listen with

such concern for my well-being. Through everything I will

always be here, good luck next year at Washington. Last but not

least, Lindsay. I am so thankful for Mr. Third Base, I don't know

what I would have done if we hadn't become the friends we are

today. It seems many of the relationships from Queen Anne's

aren't what they used to be, we have stayed close as ever. The

strangest thing is how our lives are so parallel, we experience

things in our lives at the same time. Thank you for always being

there to support me. I love you! Good luck at Maryland next year.

There are so many more friends that have helped me in many

ways, you all know who you are!

Thank you to everyone I had the privilege of spending time with

and working with during my years at Kent Island. You will never

be forgotten.

A letter from Senior Class President Anna Borders:

To the Class of 2001, I deeply thank you for giving me the chance

to work with you all as your class president. Most of us have been

together since elementary school and as we move forward let us

never forget how we got there: TOGETHER! Thanks to our

advisors Ms. Delany and Ms. Malone.

I also want to thank my parents and my brother. Without your

support and advice my life in high school would have been much

more difficult. Sometimes I have taken you for granted but if

some kids had what I have they would thank God every

minute-that is definitely what I should start doing. For

everything you have given me and for the opportunity to go on to

college I thank you. I LOVE YOU!

So many friends to thank, I don't know where to begin. My four

girls will never be forgotten-we have been through so much-Katie

Lipsner, Katie Parks, Jessica Nhem, and Rita McDermott. Our

memories are with me everyday. Thank you for being such a big

part of my life and helping me grow to who I am. Dawn Feher

and Jennie Leffelman-thanks for staying strong for me when I

lost my strength. Hold on as we grow even more-we are forever.

Thanks to Gus Pfiefer for being not only a wonderful boyfriend,

but a great friend to lean on. You have given me much insight on

the "real" world. I LOVE YOU! Tom Franklin, we have been in

everything together since kindergarten. Thanks for being there

for me. Sorry I cannot marry you as promised in kindergarten, but

I am sure that you will make it far in life and marry a wonderful

woman. To Bianca Brannon-Horney-a great boss, but more

importantly someone to look up to. I am very lucky to have met

you, to have you trust me the way you do, and I will always keep

in touch. Ms. Wally Dashiell, my ballet teacher of 12 years, thank

you for always keeping me on my toes. You have taught me ballet

and jazz, but you have also taught me how important it is to

cooperate with others, give back to the community and to treat

everyone as you would like to be treated. I will never forget you-

you are forever a part of my heart. My tennis coaches, Mr. Jason

Toy and Mr. Michael Kern, I want you to know that I appreciate

the time and dedication you have always put into our team. Some

of your stories I will never forget because they are funny, but also

so I am not caught in the same situations. I will come back and

visit-you never know maybe I will try and steal you coaching jobs!

Of course my teachers need to be thanked as well-they don't get

thanked enough for everything they put up with. Ms. Delany you

have always been special to me, as you were the fist teacher to

make English important to me. Senora Carroll, me encanta usted

clase porque espanol fue divertido. Le amo. Ms. Agreen, I have

always enjoyed your company. Math- I never appreciated the

beauty until you came along and shared your passion for it with

us. Enjoy your retirement. Mr. Engel-thanks Coach for all your

hard work and your determination to let us excel. I feel like you

gave me more confidence in myself and what I could accomplish

alone and as a team. Senorita Alemgor-no que goodbye porque yo

visitare. Le echare de menos. Ms. Dutrow you have instilled in me

a love to read even more thank I had. Thank you for that gift. Mr.

Romanowsky, thank you for getting me set on the right path in

academics and tennis. I hope you are doing well.

Kent Island High School, I have spent three years with you

through good and bad times and I am grateful I had the

opportunity.

With graduation fast approaching there are many people I'd like to thank for being there

throughout my high school career and pushing me during some of the hardest times of my

life.

First and foremost I'd like to thank my parents and sister, the people who have

consistantly supported me in all my endevors. Thank you for letting me reach for the

stars.

Next I'd like to thank my coaches, all of them through out the years. Sharon, Toy, Kern,

Mrs. Tami and Mrs. Kathy, I think I learned a little from each of you about excellence,

dedication, and sportsmanship with each sport I played.

I would like to thank my teachers who have taught me everything I need to know to prepare

me for college and future success. I'd like to jespecially thank my AP teachers Mrs.

Dutrow and Mr. Toy and of course Mr. Engel who has become my teacher mentor and

friend. In just a short time Mr. Engel has shown me how to be a leader and has given me

the dedication needed to succeed.

Last but not least I'd like to thank my friends and teammates Corina, Tina, Megan J.,

Brendon, and Megan M. You guys have shown me how to have FUN! One of you has always

"been there" when I needed it. Thanks again I love you guys.

And to everyone who wasn't mentioned I'd just like to say sorry but I only had so much

room you weren't forgotten and will always be in my memories.

~Ashley B. Carter~

I would like to thank my mother, without her support and encouragement I would not have

made it this last year. I would also like to thank Mrs. Dutrow for emotional support and for

being the funniest most caring and wonderful English teacher there is. I also would like to

thank all of my friends, you know who you are......and would just like you to know that I love

you guys and will miss you, but will always keep in touch.

Love,

Tara Crouch

I'm glad to have this opportunity

I cannot possibly thank everyone who deserves thanks in this short thank you letter. So

many people have supported and helped me throughout my life. Particuarly, my parents

have always been there to help me whenever I needed it. No matter how long I wait to ask

for the help (the day before it is due) they always were there, and didn't yell too much.

Many teachers have meant a lot to me as well. Both at Twin Valley High School and here at

Kent Island. Mr. Engel, you have meant the most to me. I have only known you for two

years, but each day of those two years you have made sure I would reach my potential.

Everyday we worked hard (Feb. 15) and had fun. Thank you for respecting me and allowing

me to be a member of the Leadership Class. Mrs. Breton, thank you for making class fun

and enjoyable, I could always count on you. Mr. Beall, thanks for making band fun, inside

and outside of class. It was a pleasure to be in the band under your leadership. Mrs.

Friedman one of my best classes was your 3rd period it was always fun and we everyone

took something out of it. Mrs. Carroll always made class interesting, thank you for that

(and keep on singing, cantar). Mrs. Cornish it has been wonderful getting to know you and

working with you this year. Every time I walk into your office, I can't help but smile. You

are always fun to be around and I am sorry I cannot spend more time with you. Thank you

for everything you have helped with this year (even the transcript that I needed in one day).

You have meant a lot to me. Mr. Grasso, your class was another one of my favorites. Thank

you for widening my horizons and making me aware of what is out there. You were always

willing to talk with me, I truly appreciate that. Of course, thanks to all the friends I have

made here. You guys made it easy on a new kid from Pennsylvania to fit in. Keith, Jeff (my

brothers) no one gets my room when I leave for college, but thanks for being great people.

If I have missed anyone, sorry, you are certainly not forgotten.

Thanks for everything

Darrin Brozene (D)

Thank you to all those who have supported my endeavors, my thoughts will be with you as I

continue my education next year. Thank you to my parents who have tolerated the thought

of their daughter as a "starving artist." Thank you to my brothers (the musicians) who

have paved the way for my artistic interests. And finally, thank you to all of my art teacher,

especially Mrs. Hackett, who have had faith in my talent.

Valerie Marousek

First and foremost, I would like to thank my parents. You have been there for me through

everything, and it is comforting to know that you will be there for me in the future. Nick,

you really are a wonderful brother, and I love you for it.

Second, I want to thank all of my teachers. I have learned a world full of information from

you, and I fell that I am now well prepared to face college. Mrs. Agreen, as much as I don't

like math, it surprised me to find that I really missed your class this year. Mr. Sheckells,

thanks for reaffirming a thousand times over, that I belong in the scientific community.

Mrs. Dutrow, thank you for making me ralize that poetry really isn't so bad and for giving

me the chance to finally PASS and A.P. test.

Finally, I want to thank my classmates. I could never ask for a better group of friends, and I

hope that we never lose touch.

Thanks again for everything,

Lauren Chaloux

First of all, I would like to thank my parents for sticking with me through school. I

appreciate all of your help and I will not disappoint you in college. I would also like to

thank all of my teachers here at Kent Island, especially Mrs. Dutrow and Mrs. Friedman. I

owe my SAT scores to you guys. Last, but not least, I'm going to thank my friends: Ryan,

Ross, Kenny, Jess, Adam, Mac, Rusty, Rupe, Bobby, Jason, Cathleen, Liz, Zack, Jeff, and

Heather.

Wes Smith

If I was capable, I would place everyone who has helped me in the past on a pedestal and

thank every one of them individually. Seeing as how ridicuously long that would take, not

to mention the man power and cost, I will sum up my gratitiude within the following

paragraph.

"I would first like to thank my parents. You did a good job and continue to do so. I'd like to

thank the remainder of my family. Your continuous praise surpasses that of a team of high

school cheerleaders. Friends are the greatest, so of course I'M thanking you guys. Your

companionship and acceptance has been my fuel for going on. I thank my numerous

teachers throughout the years. The knowledge you have instilled in me will serve me well

in the years to come. Finally, I thank Al Gore for inventing the internet. That thing is

useful.

Sincerely,

Scott Schreiner

As I approach a bittersweet time in my life, I find the need to thank some very important

people. First, and foremost, I would like to thank God for he has been my strength and

refuge. To my parents, thank you for loving me unconditionally and supporting me all

throughout my life. To Megan Jones, girl what can I say? Thank you so much for just

being you. You stuck by me through everything. We enjoyed the happy and the sad times

and as we approach the future together, I know we will remain the best of friends. To my

extended family, you guys are the best. I love you. To John Richardson, this semester was

hard for me as you well know. Thank you for not giving up on me. I hate to think of a future

that will seperate us, but U will never forget these special times. To all my high school

teachers, expecially, Mr. Holland, Mrs. Dutrow, Mr. Sofonowski, Mr. Unger, Mrs. Carroll,

and Mrs. Jayne, thank you for everything you have done for me. I would also like to thank

everyone else who I could not put on this list. I will never forget you guys. Finally, I would

would like to say CONGRATULATIONS to the Class of 2001!!!! We did it guys!!!! Good

Luck to you all of you in the future!

Love,

Tina Clayton

There are so many people that have supported me throughout my years on this earth. First

and foremost, I would like to thank Mom, Dad, Pat, Grandma, Grandpa, Grandma, Nana,

Popu, the Nardones, the Mychajulcs, the Williams, and the Leishers. My parents have

done everything within their power for me. They are always there for me. My outer family,

aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents, are the comic relief. Whenever I need to relax

and have a good time, I can count on them to cheer me up. My friends are the only way I

would have survived my thirteen years of school. I have so many close friends and new

friends are made every year. From my original circle of friends, who have been with me

since 4th grade, including Caitlin, Margaret, Andrea, Tina, Hillary, Heath, Sarah, Missy,

and all of "the originals," to my new friends, "Big Hair", Sarah, Jake, Darrin, Ginny,

Justin, Donny, Luke, and all of my band buddies. They offer support advice, and push me to

excell in everything I do. I love them all with all of my heart and even though some of us are

parting ways, we will always have the memories we have built over the years. I also want to

thank Mr. Settineri, Mrs. Wiser, and the Drum Staff of 2000. Without their help, I would

not be able to share my love of music, spanish, and teaching. I can honestly say that without

them, I would have no idea what I want to do in the future. Everyone that I have encountered

through my school years has made some sort of impact on mly life. I thank everyone for

their help and support

Thanks,

Marilyn Wheatley

To my peeps:

To my parents who are the inspiration to every waking day of my life. Daddy it's kinda hard

to say what I'm about to say because we really don't talk as much, but when I look back

over the years and things I've done you really did believe in me, it just took a while for me

to figure it out. And for that I say thank you. Mommy, baby you know I love you and there is

not a girl alive who can steal my heart like you have done. You're the only person in the

world I can talk to about anything, don't worry because I'm going to be alright.

Tina, thank you for always providing a way for us to have fun. Every weekend you always

had some kinda of scheme to get out of the house. It's funny that Baltimore was always the

place where we go to have fun and we're about to spent the next four years of our lives in

the same city. Tonya, thank you for being my best friend, no matter what happen in our

lives we always came through for each other. It's going to be hard when I leave for Morgan,

because all the days that I used to run across the street just to say what's up Cousin Ugly

are about to be over. It's going to phone calls and every once in a while visits. I don't know

how it's going to co-exist, but for right now I want to say I Love You and I'll always be

around. To Jay, please keep your personality , being around you has allowed me to really

be myself and joke with you on many occassions. The one good thing about our tightness is

that we have one argument in the 17 years we've known each other. Thank you very much

for being not only my cousin but a friend also. Shawn and Willie, without you I don't know

how I would have made it out of Middle School, we ahve ahd our argument and our

disagreements but for some strange reason we have all looked back and found away to

laugh.

To my teachers and advisors, Sof, my cousin Mr. Pauls, Engel, Sikes, Sharp, Bennett,

Mrs. Delaney, Cornish, Wingate, Hollis, Dutrow, Dillard, Silva, Tolson, Hansen, and

Green, Thank you for allowing me to finally be myself and apply myself. For the first time

in my life I finally realized what school is all about and whatever accomplishment I make I

will thank you for allowing me the opportunity to succeed.

1 Love,

Tory Brown

First of all, I would like to THANK GOD for all that he has done for me, he has brought me

through thick and thin, and without him, I am nothing. Then I would like to thank my mom

who has helped me and who has provided for me, she has been there for me through all the

good times and the bad. I would like to thank my family for giving me advice through life. I

would like to thank Hilda Hines, who is my grandmother, that taught me that life isn't

easy, but with God on my side I can make it, and without this encouragement from her, I am

nothing. I would like to thank my cousin Jamel for all of her advice about college and

helping me through the hard times in high school. I would also like to thank my best

friends Nikole Walker, Monique White, Willie Ames, Shawn Brown, and Tonya Johnson

for putting up with me, without my sisters and brothers I wouldn't have made it through

KIHS. I would like to thank my deceased Aunt Marsha for all of her encouragement

through life. I would like to thank the KIHS staff for guiding me through school. I would

like to thank a special family of mine also, Uncle Eddie, Aunt Chris, Eden, Amber, and

Sean. I would like to thank Ms. Tolson, Ms. Wingate, Ms. Hollis, Ms. Cornish, Ms.

Campell, Ms. Hopkins, Mr. Tolson, Mr. Engel, Ms. Dillard, Mrs. Walstrum, Mr. Reap, Mr.

Dillard, Mr. Hackett and Mr. Pauls for all of the help that was given to me throughout high

school. I would like to thank a special friend, Natalie Fletcher for being such a sweet and

kind friend to me, and I would like to thank Ms. Mary Walker and Ms. Annette Watkins

for all of the guidance and support. I would like to also thank some close friends of mine,

who are: AJ, Alicia, Shaundra, Jay, Sheryl, Tina, Ronkeeta, Tory, LB, Deveron, Stacey,

Sharonda, Teyonka, Chamile, Catrina, Reece, Tweety, Piggy, Brenda, Travis, Jawanna,

James, Bridget-(Dr. Diggs), Dennona and all my peeps from LDI and KIHS I would also

like to thank my peeps from QACHS who are Nicole, Wayne, Tasha, and Apple. If I have

forgotten you and you know you have done something for me, PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!! I

wish the Senior Class of 2001 the best, and wish everyone good luck in the near future, I

love ya'll and I will miss ya'll. Stay strong, stay focused, and have fun, and always

remember we'll always be the class of 2001!!!

The 1-N-ONLY

Jerrod L. Hines

Well Class of 2001, we are finally graduating. It has been a long four years, but it seems

as though it is ending so soon. There are many people I would like to thank for making my

high school years as good as they could get. Starting with the teachers, I would have to

start with Ms. Scott-Smith. She was not only my favorite teacher, but also a friend. I

learned a lot from her and will always remember her. Mr. Ickes was another favorite of

mine. He was so crazy and funny that he made the days go by faster. First period is never

fun; but then again I had Unger. He could always make me laugh. Even though she isn't

still at this school, Ms. Roseberry helped me a lot with math. She made me understand

things I could never get. As for my friends, I could go one forever. Anna Borders has been

my best friend throughout high school and has definitely been a huge part of my life. She

has helped me move up in this world and has been very supportive. Last and most

important, I would like to thank my parents. They have supported me my whole life and will

always be here for me. They have guided me in all of the right directions and I love them

for that. I am going to miss everyone. I just want to say bye to a lot of people that have made

an impact in my life and high school years...Anna, Jennie, RJ, Ross, Carl, Hayley, Julie,

Monica, Andrew, Jen, Erin, Priscilla, John, Ray, Wayne, Carrie, Julie, Tim, Will, Randy,

Amanda,...and if I forgot anyone I am sorry. Good Luck Class of 2001!!!

Dawn Feher

God has truly blessed me with a great life. Through my entire high school years and

beyond. I've been through many ups and downs, but I always come out strong with His

guidance. I would also like to thank my parents, sister, and friends for continued and

unconditional love and support. To all of the teachers and faculty of Grasonville

Elementary, Centreville Middle, and both Queen Anne's and Kent Island High Schools. For

the past thirteen years, you have taken my good and bad experiences and used them to

instill in me confidence. You have given me a love of education and learning. To

individually thank each of you would take a lifetime. I would however like to remind you all

that you have been very important to the lives of thousands of students. That has not gone

unnoticed. Every one of them will take a piece of your heart into their futures, as you will

with theirs. Thank you for all of the time and energy taht you have invested and will

continue to invest in our lives.

Jenni Reamy

There are some people "who have come in and out of my life so quickly and others who

have left footprints in my life so that I will never ever be the same." I would like to give

special thanks to certain people who have contributed greatly to my life because of the time

I've spent with them.

My Mom and Dad-thank you for supporting me in my endeavors and always being there for

me. Without your help and continuous guidance I could not have made it.

Mrs. Hopkins- thank you for being an awesome basketball coach. Through the four years I

played, you were not only a great coach but also an excellent friend, with many inspiring

words on and off the court. I want to wish you the best of luck with baby Micah.

Mr. Dave Longenette- thank you for pulling the Varsity Girls Basketball Team through an

awesome Senior year. Without you, we could have never gotten second in the Bayside

Conference. Thank you for helping me to perfect my three-point shot.

Mrs. Cornish- THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME GET INTO TOWSON UNIVERSITY! You

really showed me the way and made my college decision a lot easier. Thank you for

sending out all my applications and writing me many letters of recommendation. I really

appreciate all that you have done.

David Rupert- You are the best friend that a girl could have. Thank you for always

understanding, listening, and caring for me. I love you so much and truly don not know

what I would do without you.

Katie Parks- You are one of my best friends and you and I have been through so much.

everything, you taught me to be strong and to look inside to see who I really am and what I

Now that graduation is a week away and the scary "real world" is quickly becoming a

reality, I have been thinking about all the fond memories I have had in high school. I will

never forget any of the people that made those memories possible. First of all, I would like

to thank my parents for all of their patience and support. I could have never have made it

this far withou their help, and I promise I will work my hardest at Charleston. I would like

to thank Mrs. Delaney and Ms. Roseberry wherever she may be. Both of you have had a

lasting impression on me, and I wil always remember how much fun your classes were.

Thank you Coach Kepley for giving me the strength and support to have my most

memorable sports season ever, and for pushing me to work to my full potential. Buff-dog, I

learned a lot from you last season, and I don't know what I would have done without your

help. Coach Becca, thank you for these last three years of lax, you taught me a great deal

about lacrosse and a new approach to sports (visualizing). Mrs. Hollis-thank you for your

guidance and patience throughout my internship. I've learned so much this past semester

from you and I will never forget your willingess to teach me. Last but not least, I'd like to

say thank you to all of my friends, both new and old. Jessica you are my soul sister and

always there for me. Megan, Steph, Laura, Bustin Justin, Mandy, Leeann, Rita, and

Cathleen thank you- we have had a lot of fun and we will always keep in touch. Taiye and

Kehinde you are truly unique individuals, and I know you will go far in this world-we will

keep in touch. My lunch table guys-you have been a big pain but a lot of fun. I'd also like to

say bye to my dawgs and anyone I may be forgetting to mention, thank you. I will miss you

all so much and anyone going down south has to stop in Charleston. Congratulations to the

Class of 2001!

I guess I don't know who to thank really. There are so many things that I have been

through while in high school, I don't know where to start. I guess I should thank my

parents because they have been the only people behind me the whole way through. When I

thought no one else was there for me, they still were. And I know that they will always be

there no matter what happens in my future. Actually, I lied about my parents being the only

ones there for me when no one else was. There is one person who is without a doubt my

best friend in the entire world. He has been there through thick and thin my entire life. So

second I would like to thank Rusty Eber. We sat next to each other the first day of

Kindergarten and have been insepabable ever since. I will never have another friend like

him. The next person I think I should thank is a very special person. She came into my life

really without me noticing it and one day I realized I would never be able to go on without

her by my side. That person is Kelly Fitzpatrick. She is so special to me and she will never

know how much she means to me because I could never put into words how special she

truly is and what an impact she has made on my life. I guess the next people I would like to

thank could be classified as a group, they are of course my Boys. Ryan, Wes, Ross, Shawn,

Kenny, Ray, Bobby, and Goob. Not that they are not important enough to get there own

paragraph but I don't think there is enough paper in the world to write about all the times I

have had with these guys. They have truly made my high school experience great. And

finally, if I was to think of one teacher to thank for making my high school career fun, one

name would come to mind. This person was my 10th and 12th grade english teacher. She

made everyday in class a good one. She has a wonderful personality and a great sense of

humor. So thank you Mrs. Dutrow. Not only did she make school fun, she helped me

realize that I want to teach after college and hopefully, she knows how grateful I am for

that.

David Rupert

I would like to thank my whole family for all their support over the years. I would also like

to thank my friends for being there for me during hard times. I would like to thank all of

my teachers. I would really like to thank all my music teachers most of all for helping me

with my voice. Mr. Cook was a great friend and he taught me how to be loud with my voice.

Mrs. Cooke for teaching me how to sight read and teaching me proper diction. Dr. Winter

for teaching me how to read a different way. Most of all, Mr. White for teaching me how to

play piano, helping me expand my range, helping me with diction, breathing, teaching me

about music history, theory, and opera. I now love all music. So thanks to everyone, I will

never forget what you did for me.

Crystal Arnold

There are many people I would like to thank I think I'll start with

the teachers who have greatly affected my life. Mrs. Dutrow for not

giving up on me. Dr. Wolff for letting me work at my own speed and

liking everything I wrote. Mr. Welsh for showing me you can bite off

more than you can chew and succeed. I would like to thank Mr.

Saunders for giving me my web-sites and respecting my opinions.

And finally the man that changed my life Mr. Engel. The man is a

visionary. He gave me a chance and I hope I did not fail him.

Thanks to his example I now aspire to become a teacher here at

KIHS and maybe someday takeover the leadership program. Now

that the teachers have been thanked I would like to acknowledge

my true family, The Magnificent Seven

Wes(Smyth),Ross(Magnus),Rusty(Ruteman),Dave(Rupe),Sean(Big

Mac),Kenny(K),and myself Ryan(Corn) we are all brothers and I

will miss them next year. There is also my girls Gwyn, Shanon,

Diane, Kathleen, and Katie. I would like to give a very special thank

you to the person that had the most effect on my life Susy, we may

have had some tough times but we will always be friends. My girls

are a major part of my life and I love them all. Finally I would like

to thank all my other boys and girls Adam(Twigg), Jason(Spickers),

Brenden, Bobby(Woo), Forrest, Chris(Hootie),Jess, Laura, and

Shawn. Whoever I forgot I am sorry. I hope I stay close to most of

you and thanks for the memories.

Ryan Cornwell

I would like to thank the whole senior class of 2001 a future full of

life, love, success and happiness. I don't think the world is ready

for our impact...Oh well they better get ready because we are

coming. I hope friendships remain for everyone...Tina, Keeta,

Jerrod, Tory, Nikole and Monique...I love you all and will never

forget the many memories I have shared with each of you.

Love,

Well I would just like to start off by saying that High School has

been an unbelievably great time and it could not have been

possible if the people I'm about to thank had not been there.

First off I would like to thank my mom. She is the main reason why

I have been so successful. She has always been there for me and I

don't know what I would have done without her. I love you mom.

Next is the guys Bobby, Chris , Zack and Zach. Its been great,

thanks for the memories. Thank you to all my Lax buds Twigg,

finally did it. We beat QA. I had been waiting for that for three

years and it couldn't of come at a better time.

I would like to thank all the teachers I have had over the years. I

can honestly say I have enjoyed almost every one of you. Thank

you especially Mr. Welch you were the one who finally was able to

get me to understand math. Thank you to Mr. Schipul for putting up

with me for 4 years.

I would also like to thank someone who has come into my life these

past two and whom I feel has had one of the biggest impacts on

my life thus far. Thank you Rita. You have helped me to stay

focused on what is important and to stay out of trouble. These two

years have been unbelievable I would not trade them for anything.

You are my first love and my best friend, we have something very

special. I think we will be friends for life. Thank you sweetheart. I

love you.

Thanks everyone its been great. Good luck to all my fellow

graduates.

Jason Spires

I am thankful for Ms. Williams and Mrs. Parkerson for they have

been there for me. I wouldn't have had a great year had it not been

for them

Christina Baker

Mom, thank you for all your love and support. You have been there

through it all and I want to thank you for everything. You are there

to turn to when I need you. A mother's love is crucial to a child's

development, my success in life and me as an individual is proof

that your love is strong. and i thank God for that. Dad, you are a

source of strength, thank you for

being a great father. To you both I say thank you for raising an

individual I am really proud to be. I will not let you down. Taiye, my

don't know what I'd do without you. Thank you for looking like me

your words of encouragement, they came at a time when I needed

them most. Love you all. Tia and Courtney you've both been nice

thanks for being a great peer mediation trainer it will be of use in

the future. Ms. Cornish, even though I've only known you a year it

seems like I've know you a lifetime. Thank you for making the

pre-college process much less stressful for me. You were a huge

help and I appreciate your contribution to the final outcome. Keep

that picture by your window sill ok? Mrs. Sylvah, thank you for

ebing a great friend and a bundle of joy and you another

spectacular representation of the great continent of Africa. Keep in

Kehinde Ayoola

To everyone,

you for that.

To my family, thank you for being there when I needed help,

and supporting me throughout high school.

To all of my friends, you all have made these last four years

of High School so much fun. All of the games we've been too

and the parties we attended just made all of us that much

closer. I would like to thank Ashlee my girl friend for helping

my senior year be the best year of my life. You have helped

me to open up my eyes to realize that there is just so much

more to life then parties. I also wanted to thank you for

and thank you all for the memories.

-Adam Twigg-

When I look back over my life so far, there have been so

many people who helped me and influenced me in a positive

way that it would take a book to thank everyone

individually. However, I want to show my appreciation to

those people because I feel that because of them I have

constantly been surrounded by love and support. First and

foremost, I want to thank my parents, who have alwyas

pushed me to test my limits and who also let me know when

I have done something to make them proud. I think a desire

to please my parents has been a huge force in my

achievements at school and elsewhere. I also recognize the

huge sacrifices they have made for my sister and I, and I

think they are the best parents any kid could ask for. Next I

would like to thank my friends, who are all unique and

wonderful people who I believe will go far in life. True

friends really are hard to find, and my friends are very

important to me. They have stuck by me through the years

and are always willing to listen and lend a hand if I need it

Thanks guys! I have had the good fortune to be taught by a

wonderful and committed group of teachers, all of whom

deserve thanks and many who have made a long-lasting

impression on me. In particular, I would like to thank my old

band teacher Mr. Settinery, who I think must be the most

patient man on earth. Also, I want to thank Mrs. Agreen,

who put up with me for three years and who made such

scary subjects as calculus and statistics seem so easy that

I couldn't help but feel a little more confident about math.

Of course, I also want to give credit to my AP teachers fro

mthis year; Mr. Sheckells, Mrs. Dutrow, and Mr. Toy, for

their incredible dedication and hard work as they prepared

my classmates and I for the advanced placement exams.

Melissa Dove

I would like to thank my family for helping me through the

rough times and patting me on the back through the

wonderful times. I would also like to thank my boyfriend,

who I love very much. He has made the past two years of

my life wonderful. I would like to thank my best friend Mr.

Billy Volm as well. He has been with me through thick and

thin. I would like to say I love you and thank you to: Marilyn,

Brian, Lauren, T.J., Kev, Cait, Stevie, Ruby, Sarah, Darrin,

Dave, Josh, and my bench budy Ryan Mayes. You have all

made it a great four years. Last but not least is my mentors

Mr. Settineri and Mr. Clark who have taught me about the

world. I love you!

Marge

Mrs. Hackett

I just wanted to thank you for inspiring me. I have come

such a long way from 10th grade. One of the only reasons

that I have come such a long way with my artwork is

because you have pushed me to do the best that I can do.

Now I am graduating and hopefully I will have the drive to

go to art school. I think that you have helped me stay in

school and also have the drive to come to school. You have

not only been my teacher but you have been my friend and

that is one of the best things to be able to say. I think that

my most vivid memory of High School will be sitting in you

art room, and going to the art museums.

There are a lot of things that I can't really put into words.

You have trusted me to do things. You have been there for

me when I needed help. You have joked with me, made me

laugh, and that's a powerful thing. Anyway, there is nothing

left for me to say, I'm going to miss you when I am gone.

Thank you again!!

Love,

Jen Bedard

I want to thank so many people but I know there isn't

enough room on this web page for that. So I will start by

thanking God for His strength, patience and support.

Without my faith and His love, I wouldn't have made it

through high school. Second, I want to thank my parents

because they have stuck by my side through anything and

everything and that means the world to me. I just can't

thank them enough. I also wanna thank my little sister

Caitlyn. I know it's been hard to live with me these four

years and I'm sure it won't get easier but you've been a real

trooper and I love you to death!! Next I want to thank

Kaitlin Page. She has to be one of the best friends a girl

could ever ask for and I can't imagine going through next

year without her there everyday but I know I'll make it.

Thank you for always listening to me and loving me no

matter what. Good luck in the remaining years of high

school! Never give up Fi-Fi! Justin, what do I say? You were

the first real friend I made here and you've never given up

on me which is a lot to say cause I know you have wanted

to many times. But thank you for not doin that and good lich

next year babe!! Nick, my one true love. You've made this

last semester of high school the greatest of all four years. I

feel honored and privileged to be a part of your life and you

amaze me more and more each and everyday. I have every

faith in our love to survive the next four years and beyond. I

look forward to each day and you've made me realize that

life is a gift and never take a day for granted. I admire your

love for life and can't wait to share mine with you. Just

know that ill always be there and never give up! We'll prove

them wrong :o) I want to thank Mr. Sof, Mrs. Walstrum, Mr.

Sheckells, and Mrs. Ewe. Congratulations class of 2001!!!!

Good luck in all you do and God bless.

P.S. I want to thank Kristen for always being there for me.

Even though we're an hour apart now our friendship has

grown so much stronger and she's put up with the most

stuff with me and I just wanna say thanks squeeks!

April Burnell(Bunny)

First, I thank Jesus for the most important sacrifice and for

his love, past, present, and forever! I would like to thank

my parents for teaching me the value of education and

always loving me no matter what! You did a good job! I love

you guys. I thank my sisters for teaching me that things do

always happen for some reason; my brothers for letting me

remember splashing through the mud puddles, and climbing

trees; thank you to my cousin Amy Tedford for being the

closest of all friends; Pastor Brian Sylvia for showing me the

importance of making God first in my life; the Eyewitness

Drama Team...all of you-for encouragement and being

examples of Christ. Thank you to all my teachers...you were

all wonderful. Thanks to all the Drama Production Cast &

out! To All: You are very special & precious! Stay smiling,

Good Luck & God Bless! May all of you find true peace! I

LOVE YOU!

Sarah Rainey

To Everyone:

This letter is a letter for everyone. If you have helped me in

anyway between the year 1983 and 2001 this is for you. I

just wanted to express my thankfulness of you all. You

don't know how much I appreciate everything that you've

done for me. It was pretty tough and exhausting, but I

finally made it. I'm sorry if I never told any of you how I felt

before now. But it's just because I was too caught up in

myself to realize how hard you were trying to help me

succeed. I wasted so much time not trying my best and

doing my job. But now I regret ever falling off track. I finally

climbed my way out of the hole I dug. I know that

everybody makes mistakes, but I'm sure I've made a lot!!!

And I thank you again for sticking in there with me, and

pushing me toward the goal. Anyway I've worked hard this

last month or so, and I'm finally gonna get my diploma. If

you have helped me in some way during my trip down that

long and winding road I'll be sure to repay you all some

way, some how. I don't know when, but I'll figure it out.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I'll see ya

later.

-Shawn A. Waskey

To all my Friends,

First of all i want to thank all of you for always being there

for me. You all have always been there no matter whether i

was depressed or happy. All you guys gave me some

inspiration one way or another and that means a lot. We

have done a lot of things together even getting in and out of

trouble together. Those are all the good old days.

Frank- hey i know when we first met we didn't exactly see

eye to eye, but we turned out to be boys after all. Hey we

hung out a lot these past couple of years that we have

known each other. You helped me through a lot of problems

that i had and i appreciate it.

Erin- you and i really didn't become friends until you started

dating Frank. To tell you the truth without you Brittany and I

probably wouldn't be back together. I owe you one for that.

Just like Frank you helped me to go in the direction that I

needed to go when i got into problems.

Brittany- when you and I first met two years ago I thought

that we would just be friends, but I soon found out that it

would become more than that. We started dating on

November 1, 1999 and we would soon realize that our

friends would control whom we dated. We soon broke up,

but remained friends. We had are ups and downs as friends,

but in the end you and I remained friends though those hard

times you and I both had with our personal lives. We also

traveled through those good times together, not all of them

but most of them. Now we are back where we started two

years ago, a couple. Now I think that we have both matured

a lot and I think we will go a lot further if not as a couple

than as real close friends.

-George Ferguson

As I end this chapter of my life, I need to thank a few very

important people. First of all, I must thank God, my strength

and refuge. You have given me life and I know that with you

anything is possible. God, you continue to grant me the

serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage

to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the

difference and I thank you. Secondly, I must thank my

parents, most of all for putting up with me. You both did an

excellent job raising me and I hope that you are proud of

the person I have become. You have always been there for

me, I don't know what I would do without you both. I love

you. Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly

not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that

a new world is born. My friends make up my world and I

wish I could thank each and every one of you. Tina, we're so

unbelievably alike. It is said that a friend hears the song in

your heart and sings it to you when your memory fails. You

are most definitely that type of friend. I know that I can

always count on you and I will always be here for you.

We've been through a lot already and I look forward to

whatever else may come. John, we haven't known each

other very long, but it feels like its been forever. Thank you

for always being there for me, even if it was on the phone at

one in the morning. Be a salmon John. All of the teachers

that I've had through the years...Mr. Sof, Ms. Dutrow, Mr.

Unger, Ms. Carroll...thanky you for helping to mold me into

the person that I have become and for putting up with the

person I already was. If words could fall like raindrops from

these lips of mine and if I had a thousand years I'd still run

out of time. To express my love and thanks to all of you I

cannot even start. All the words now fail me, you'll have to

read my heart.

-Megan Jones

Jessica Gray

I can't believewe all made it through these past four years.

It went by so fast and now for many of us, it's off to college

and off to life. I want to thank every teacher who helped me

enjoy my educational experience. Especially Ms. Delany

and Dr. Wolfe who encouraged my English studies. They are

two of the most down to earth, beautiful, caring teachers I

know. Thanks to Ms. Kep for coaching and handling the girls

soccer team. I'll miss you and all the good times. Good luck

in the future. Ms. Hackett you are another favorite teachers

who showed me that practice and patience makes

perfection. Thanks for teaching me how to set goals and

never give up. Thank-you to my parents for doing it on

August 21st. My life has been great and it's all because of

the unconditional love and support. Last of course my friend

s who make me every bit of the person I am. Liz, my best

friend who is there 24-7. Michael, my support and

confiedence, Mandy, Laura, Wes, Twigg, Megan, Sarah,

Critty, Rosie, Nicole, and everyone else- you know who you

are-I love you all and best of luck.

-Kita (Jess Cromwell)

To start off my Thank You I just want to thank God. If it

wasn't for him I would not be here. I want to thank Mr.

Pauls, Ms. Hollis, Ms. Prochnio, and Ms. Cornish. If it wasn't

for these teachers and staff I would not have made is as far

as I did. They always stayed on me to get things done. I

would have to thank my mother she always made me do a

little more than I thought I could do. Some other thank

you's that I feel is important is to my friends.

First of all to Tonya Johnson she is my best friend and she

has always been there for me. She was there to make me

do right when I really did not want to. She been with me

through all the good times and the bad times even when we

was not that close. I want to thank her and tell her I will

miss her when we split op this year after graduation. Next

to Ronkeeta who has also been a very good friend and

somone who I could talk to when I had a problem. Thank

you for always being there for me. Than to Nicole, Monique,

Mark and Jerrod. They have always been the ones could

have cheered me up when I was down and the ones that we

always went out to the club togther. We could always have

a good time no matter where we went. Now to Tory and

Shawn they just always been there when it was time to

scheme up something because they wanted to go or be

there. I believe we all had some good times and I will never

forget them. If I forgot anybody I want to thank all of you all

too. I had some good times and some bad times in school

but now it's time to go. Thank you everybody.

Sicerely

Tina Brown

It is difficult to put into words the remarkable years that I

have experienced in high school. Past glories and triumphs

have been accomplished due to teachers, mentors, friends,

and family. Vast amount of people have influenced my high

school life and for that I am very grateful. Mr. Sofonowski

taught me the meaning of honor, dedication, educational

integrity, and perservance in class work. Coach Brian Kelly

taught me to never give up, to put your heart into your

goals and always strive to be the best. Coach Claiborn and

Mr. Schipul taught me the meaning of hard work and doing

what it takes to accomplish your goals. I would also like to

thank Mrs. Friedman, Mr. McKim, Mr. Grasso, Ms. Foor, and

Mrs. Jayne for helping me gain an appointment into the

United States Merchant Marine Academy. With my

acceptance to the Untited States Merchant Marine Academy

a life goal has been completed. This huge obstacle could not

have been surmounted without the support of my teachers

and friends, but most of all the continual support of my

family. My mother and father pushed me to work harder and

reach my potential even when I had second thoughts of the

avenue that I would pursue after graduation. I now realize

that they pushed me for all the right reasons and for that I

am very thankful. I would like to thank my brother Pat too.

Pat supported me in my love of athletics, coming to every

game he could, consoling me in times of defeat, and

rejoicing with me in times of victory. I know that no matter

what happened, he would be there to guide me down the

right path and aid me in whatever I needed. He exceeded

his duties as a traditional brother and became more. Pat

became a person I could talk to about anything, someone

who understood me above all others and was always there

for me. He once told me that heloved to watch me play, he

said it made him so proud of me. I would like him to know

that I am forever proud of him, in everything that he does

and will do and that I will be there for him whenever he

needs it. I would like to thank my friends for teaching me to

enjoy life. Thank you Ashley, Matt, Neary, april, Kelly, Jess,

and all my other friends. I especially want to thank my

lacrosse team for making my senior year the best year of

my life. Wes, Twigg, Bobby, Chris, Rupe, Ross, Jason,

Travis, and all the underclassmen. Everyone has made a

positive impact on my life and I cannot include them all, but

thank you everyone who knows me, because I'm sure that

you have made a difference in my life.

Thank you,

David Shafer

There are so many whom I would like to thank but a few

special people have shaped the person I have become. I

want to thank my entire family- my parents, my siblings,

grandparents, and all my aunts and uncles-but I would

especially like to thank my mom. She is beautiful person

inside and out, always teaching me to be strong. During all

the time I was growing up, she was there to listen to my

sister and I, give us hugs, put on band-aids, and wipe away

tears, always putting us first. I love you mom. I also wish to

thank Angie, who has been so much more to me then a best

friend. Angie, you know me better then anyone else and

have become one of the biggest parts of my life. I will never

forget all the times we have laughed, and even the times

we have cried. I love you. I want to thank Jen for being

there for me through it all. Although our friendship has

changed a little, I will always remember the good times and

always love you. To the Class of 2001, congratulations

guys, we finally did it! Thank you for the time of my life.

Erin Willey

Congratulations Class of 2001! Graduation is finally here.

We made it! I would like to thank my parents and family.

Their support and encouragement helped me to succeed. I

would also like to thank my sister for providing me with

competition. I would like to thank my teachers for

challenging me every step of the way. Mr. Settinerri and Mr.

Beall deserve thanks for encouraging my love of music.

Finally, I would like to thank my friends for providing me

with memories I will never forget.

Amanda Dove

Wow, It's been four great years of fun, memories, work, and

triumph. Thanks to all the people who have made it

possible.

First of all and most importantly, thanks to my mom, Dotty.

Although I don't always seem appreciative, I realize that I

ask a lot of you and that you've come through for me many

more times than I can count. Sometimes I take on too much

and without you I wouldn't be able to pull it all off. I love

you and thanks more than words can say.

To the rest of my family, my sister, my brothers, and my

step-dad - thanks, too. Especially to my sister Mary for

always having an open ear and heart. You always seem to

understand both mom and I, and your advice and

unconditional love has helped more than you know. Thanks

to all of my brothers who always keep me on my toes and

remind me everyday that I'm still a kid at heart. And thanks

to John for his support. I love you guys and I wouldn't

change this crazy thing we've got going for the world.

To my best friend and boyfriend Jason, thank you for

everything you've added to my life. Thank you for the fun

and adventure, for helping me realize what I have, what

type of person I am, and what type I want to be. Most of all,

thank you for caring.

Thanks to all of my friends, past and present, those who I

talk to all the time and those who I don't. At some time

each and every one of you has helped me out, brightened

my day with either advice or a laugh. This also goes for all

of my teammates, especially Liz and Mandy, for keeping me

motivated.

It's been a memorable four years. Thanks to everyone

who's helped make it so, which includes many more people

than mentioned above.

To the class of 2001, remember that other people have

more things in common with you than differences, no

matter how it may first appear. Go get 'em cowboys.

Rita J. McDermott

Throughout my stay at Kent Island High I have had the

pleasure of meeting some incredibly interesting people.

People who have had a profound impact on my life, people

that I will never forget, people whom I owe so much to. I

will attempt to convey my gratitude but I feel I will fall

somewhat short, for I can not express adequately enough

my deep affection for them.

First I want to thank Zach Rosier and Lauren Krasko. Though

it was a misfortune that we were united under such

circumstances, I am delighted we had the opportunity to

become close. I will no doubt hold you close in my heart for

as long as I live. I can only hope that we stay in contact

over the years. Travis, Greg, Adam, Josh, Mike, Eric,

Shannon and Ashley, those adventurous nights spent in the

parking lots will always be looked back on with a smile; as

well as all the other times we have spent together over the

years. Mr. Breslin, Ms. Veditz, Mr. Claiborne, Mr. Engel and

Mr. Toy, thank you for giving me the skills I can use in real

life-when the test isn't with a No. 2 pencil and a scan-tron

sheet. Brenda,it's you and me girl to the end. To my parents

who have been the backbone in my endeavor to succeed.

Without your endless support in my cultivation of my new

ideas I do not know what would have become of me. From

the depths of my soul I thank you. Lindsay thank you for

showing me that when you think you have life all figured

out, that's when it slams you right on your ass. To all my

friends I didn't mention, its not that I have forgotten you it

is simply a technicality on terms of usage of space. Seniors,

we are on the threshold of changing our entire existence, I

ask you, what will you do?

-Tim Jeffries

First and foremost I would like to thank my parents for

everything they have done. All the hard work, persistence,

yelling (just kidding), and patience has finally paid off. My

little sister Caitlin is also at the top of my list of people I am

thankful for. She has put a smile on my face whenever I've

needed one and has been the person that makes my life

more fun. And speaking of fun, I would like to thank Ryan.

Thank you for all that you've put up with throughout the

months and always being there for me. I love you and all

the good times that we've had. I couldn't have made it

through my years at KIHS without my friends. Kristin and

Anya have supported and stuck with me even when no one

else would. Thank you. Katie, Tim, Jeff, and Callie are in a

class by themselves, listening to my secrets and giving me

awesome advice. Thanks for helping me with my endless

amount of drama and handling my sarcastic comments. And

Rita..hey baby we're first! Last but not least I would like to

thank Mr. Sof and Mrs. Dutrow. You are the two teachers

that I've gotten to know the best and have taken the time

to get to know me. I will always remember all the help you

have given me throughout the years. And of course I'll

come back to visit when I'm a famous lawyer. Well, that's

about it. I'm glad I'm graduating and finally getting out of

here. Thanks everyone. I love you!!

-Cathleen Souder-

To all the people that guided me in life

and helped me through my troubled lies;

To all the teachers in which I had

whom I idolize for setting my path;

To all the people I call my friends

for sticking with me until the end;

To all my family and friends apart

To all of whom I love with my heart;

I thank you each for playing a part

in my life, my spirit, and my heart.

I would like to first thank god. It is by his will I strive to live,

and by his son I am saved from death. I would like to thank

the two people that made my life possible. The two that

guided me through life; stood by me every step of the way;

helped me to learn, to grow. The two that taught me of life's

struggles, and whom introduced me to god. Thank you mom

and dad. I would also like to thank my grandparents for

playing a large role in my childhood. They too stood by me

every step of the way. I always had someone to turn to,

and someone to rely on. Thank you grams and gramps for

your love and support. I am a strong believer that one's

character is shaped by the people he or she encounters in

life. Without these people, the people we consider our

closest friends, I know for a fact I would not be the same. I

just want to say thank you to all my friends who have stuck

by me to the end. Robby and Jon, who introduced me to the

guitar and skateboard, we had some great times together.

Rob, I'll be down to visit you in your new place this summer.

David Brauns, white as can be...adrenaline hype...we could

kick random order any day. You were my first friend here at

Kent Island, and still are one of my best. Megan, you stood

by me every step of the way. We've only known each other

for a short time, yet I fell like we've become great friends.

Tina, who taught me not to give up on love, no matter what

happens in the end, you'll always hold s special place in my

heart. TJ, you've been a great friend. I'll never forget when

you brought me that steak for your birthday that day I got

grounded. You've always been there for me. Thank man.

Brian...what can I say! If it wasn't for you I might have done

great in math. Its been great man, I'll see you in b-more

next year. To everyone that has been a part of my life: god,

my friends, and my family. Thank you.

John Richardson (aka volcom)

Taiye Ayoola's Thank you note

I'm glad to have this opportunity to thank everyone who

had anything to do with the happiness and contentment I

felt during the course of my stay at KIHS. First, thanks to

God for making everything possible. Secondly and

inevitably, I'd like to thank my parents. I love you both.

Mum, thanks for the support and always being there. Your

attitude towards success is inspirational and your

encouraging words were much appreciated. I cannot forget

to thank my twin and best friend, Kehinde. I love you sister.

Thanks for always being there with me to share everything

including the stressful college process. The change would

have been harder if I had no twin. You're both my friend and

sister.

To all my friends, thank you for just being fun to hang with.

Tia McCrae and Courtney Lewis, you know you're good

friends and I'll definitely see you guys later. Cassy Palmer,

"waasaaahh!" Liz, I'll miss your crazy self. Hope to see you

later in life. Good luck in your future endeavors.

To all the counselors and everyone at the guidance

department, thank you. Ms. Hollis, it was fun learning from

you, thanks for letting me change my schedule to

internship. Special thanks to Ms. Cornish who guided me

through this semester and the whole works of preparing for

college. You know you're very special to both Kehinde and I.

Thanks a lot, I will not forget you. Mr. Romanowsky, thanks

you for always trying to keep me informed and up to date.

Thanks to all the teachers that taught me, you were all

great! I'm lucky to have been taught by you and you're

lucky to have taught me! J Ms. Agreen, you know you are

the best math teacher ever! Thank you for teaching Algebra

the way you did. I'm glad you were the first person who

taught me math in this school. "Happy Retirement." Mr.

Sofinowski, your class was very interesting. It made me like

history. Ms. Scott-Smith, keep being adorable. Ms. Sylvah

thanks for being you. You're more than a teacher to me,

you are also a friend. I'm glad we met and you know we'll

keep in touch. To everyone else that I did not mention,

sorry but I thank you all the same. J

Senior thank you! First to start off if I don't

include your name I am sorry. Well the number

one thank you would be Vernedette Tolson for

giving birth to young debonair. Mom you have

always let me be myself and I want to thank you

very very very much. I have to say that I am glad

you are my Mom. I will always be your BABY BOY

(smile). Now the important teachers in my life

(Schip) you are the number one stunner. I would

like to say thanks for having faith in me and sorry

for letting you and myself down this season but

when it's not there it's no there, I just didn't

want it anymore. When I come back from the

Marines I will want it cause I will be a man not a

BOY. SOF I want to say thank you also for having

the ego to put up with me. I really do respect you

as a person and that advice last year in the locker

room, where will my boys be, hey not a damn

place, but you and I both knew that. Mrs. Foor

thanks for puttin me in my place when needed.

Mrs. Hansen your eyes still make any piece of

clothing you wear bling bling. And the lovely

librarians. And I seriously would like to THANK

ALL TEACHERS AT KENT ISLAND HIGH SCHOOL

FOR LETTING RAY BE RAY! OH yeah Sheck Dog

I'll be back next year to see KI beat QA. UNTIL

NEXT TIME KENT ISLAND. Now I want to thank

some friends I met this year, Jordan, Willie, S.

Brown, Three headed Monster, Eric K, Killer Corn,

Frogger, Slim and anyone else who thought I

ever meant something to then I hope we all stay

close after I get back from vacation. And to Paula

and ANNABELLE I will never forget you guys.

Ray Ford

How can one justly put into words the thank you

owed to so many people over the past eighteen

years of my life? This has been a question that I

have been turning over I my mind for quite some

many days now, and is perhaps the main reason

for my procrastination in writing this. So many

unique people have come and gone over the

course of my life, and each has touched me in

their own way. I will be forever thankful and

indebted to you, and can only hope that I at one

point had returned the favor.

First and foremost I would like to thank my two

wonderful parents, Tilghman and Laura Hemsley,

who have taught me so much, but most

importantly how truly strong the power of love

really is. I have never seen two people more

committed to each other, and I want you to rest

assured that your endeavors through each other

have served as shining beacon of hope in my life,

reassuring me that the power of love and hard

work are two of the most necessary components

towards achieving true success in my life. Father,

you are the hardest worker I have ever known,

and you have taught me a valuable lesson of your

own. I still cannot believe all that you have

sacrificed and all that you have gained from

sometimes working eighteen hour days to

support a family. May the Chesapeake keep you

wealthy, and may your incredible artwork

continue to inspire people everywhere.

To my teachers who have inspired me to achieve.

Mrs. Dutrow, for re-invoking my fervent love for

English and Literature. I challenged Faulkner and

succeeded, thanks to your providing a medium

for my imaginative mind through the love of

prose. Mr. Sofinowski, you were my first teacher

at Kent Island, and made the experience

enjoyable as well as beneficial to my education.

These two characteristics of your teaching alone

prove that you are incredibly successful beyond

your years, and have achieved more in the past

three years, and have achieved more in the past

three years than most your age in the field, and

showing me the ropes to graphic arts field. Lastly,

Mr. Engel, you are and inspirational person, and

may you continue to provide programs for the

willing.

Now, I thank my friends: Doug, you have been

my first best friend and best friend since the age

of two. Although we are both going our extreme

separate ways, you to the Marines in Pensacola,

and me to Villa Julie college, I know that we will

forvever remain close. I have never looked at you

merely as a friend, but more precisely, as a

brother. I love you bro. Brent, you and I have

some of my most fond of memories, you are also

my brother and know that you will succeed in all

you do. Wes, you were one of my closest friends

from kindergarten until regrettably last year. I

just want to say that I will miss you a lot as a

friend, and know that you will also be extremely

successful in life. Seth, I didn't know you up until

this year, but only wish that we had known each

other earlier on, for you are a truly important and

amazingly good friend. We will always be

brothers. Tommy and Alec, you two are crazy

and I love you for it. Good luck at Virginia Tech

next year, Alec, and Salisbury for Tommy. Callie,

you are forever will be my first true love and

want to thank you for giving me the most

incredible times of my life. (But hold me to this,

they are not over.) I love you. Now do to space

constraints I must ramble on the names of those

who have also had a profound impact on my life:

Katie, Danielle, Katie L., Tim (you and I share

that same unique ability to start a revolution at

will.) Christina, Andy, Critty, Kim, Lindsay H., and

all of you who were not mentioned. You are by

no means less important, just in an absence of

mind at the moment. You all know who you are.

In closing, I would like to finish with a simple

statement that can mean everything in the world

and so much more. "I love you all". We are the

class of the real millennium, and I have on piece

of advice for you to carry with you. The last four

years have not been spent in preperation for that

moment we walk across that stage and grab that

diploma, they have been spent in preperation for

that morning after, when we wake up from four

years of dreams and hopes and toil, and realize

that we are all fully capable people now in the

real world, with 251 chances to become the most

successful, proserous, and inspirational people

this world has ever seen. Go now, in peace… and

lets show this world our true mettle.
