Get ready for the 2009-10

Magothy River Middle School

Science Research and Experimentation Project

Science Project Info is attached to this page.  Click on the attachements you want, then click on the title of the page again to open it.  Information will be added to this page weekly so check frequently.

Ideas and project examples can also be found on the internet links page.

All Projects will be due Friday Jan 15th.  No projects will be accepted after the 15th but students may certainlky turn projects in ahead of time.  Projects must be submitted in written form following the example provided, or may be e-mailed to me.  (I prefer e-mail to having your child bring a flash drive to me as flash drives can be easily misplaced)

Help and Advice:

Mrs. Cochran will be available for extra help on most Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, some lunch times, or by appointment until the science project is due.

Magothy media specialists are available at various times during school hours to assist in research

Check the internet links page for information and ideas on science fair projects

If you wish to submit your research and experiment to the Science Fair please read below.  Students are not required to be in the fair but will earn extra credit toward their semester grade and will realize a sense of pride and acheivement in submitting their project.

Entering the fair

Students may pick up forms from Mrs Cochran starting on Thursday November 5th.

All forms should be filled out and submitted as soon as possible so experimentaion may begin.  Forms must be turned in no later than Nov 20th (Thanksgiving break)

Putting it together for the fair:

1.  Type or very neatly write final versions of all necessary science project parts.

2. Purchase a tri-fold board

3. Cut and tape or glue a large title to the center of the board

4. Arrange the other parts such as the data table, graph, and procedure in a way that makes your experiment easy to read about and also artistic

5. You may add props and photos to your board or lay out in front of your board
