Physics Syllabus
Course Description: Physics is a study of the interrelationships of matter and energy in the universe. Emphasis is placed on Newtonian Physics with some application to modern topics. Lab exercises, teacher demonstrations, and video demonstrations are used to illustrate the various physical phenomena.

Unit 1 Measurement, math review, trigonometry introduction, vector addition & proportions (3 weeks)
Unit 2 Kinematics (4 weeks)
Unit 3 Projectile Motion (1 1/2 weeks)
Unit 4 Dynamics, Friction, Statics (5 weeks)
Unit 5 Gravitation & Kepler's Laws (take home assignments)
Unit 6 Momentum (2 weeks)
Unit 7 Work, Power, Energy (4 weeks)
Unit 8 Rotational Motion (1 1/2 weeks)
Unit 9 Heat & Thermodynamics (3 weeks)
Unit 10 States of Matter (two weeks)
Unit 11 Wave Motion & Sound (4 weeks)
Unit 12 Light & Optics (3 weeks)
Unit 13 Electricity & Magnetism (2 weeks)
Unit 14 Quantum Theory and Nuclear Applications (1 week optional)
