Environmental Science Syllabus

Course Description: This course is designed to help students understand our immediate enviornment and make decisions based on sound ecological concepts. This course will also provide exposure that will prepare students for the expectations of high school assessments. 

Major Units

 Unit I Introduction, Methods, Decision Making Skills and Processes   

       Chapters 1 and 2                6 weeks

Unit II Ecosystems

       Chapters 3, 4, 6, 7, 8           7 weeks

Unit III Cycles in the Environment

        Chapters 3, 5, 10                   7 weeks

 Unit IV The Organization of Life

           Chapters 4, 5, 10                   6 weeks

Unit V Environmental Issues

             Chapters 13, 14, 17, 18         10 weeks
