Rules and Procedures for My Classroom

How we do it - Click image to download.

ASSIGNED SEATS: Students must enter the classroom prior to the late bell and take their assigned seats as soon as the door is shut. Discipline for being tardy to class will be handled as per school rules. You must sign the log-in/out sheet every time you enter the room after the bell or leave the room during class time. Lab tables will be assigned to every 3 or 4 students depending on the size of the class.

TEXTBOOKS: Students are required to bring their Agenda book to class as required by school policy. Covered textbooks should be brought to class each day. Chemistry and physics students are required to have a scientific or graphing calculator and Environmental Science students need a calculator capable of doing normal arithmetic calculations.

DISRUPTIVE TALK AND EXCESSIVE NOISE: During class time everyone will be given their chance to contribute. However, disruption of class by unnecessary talking or excessive noise will result in disciplinary action. Lab time will involve small groups of students carrying on activities. This should be done so that the total group noise will allow important general directions to be given by the instructor.

AS A GENERAL RULE THERE WILL BE NO:

1. intentional splashing with the faucets
2. playing with the eye bath/shower hoses
3. turning on AC or heating units
4. writing on desks
5. rooting through drawers, cabinets, or closets
6. wrestling, horseplay, or throwing of paper
7. sitting on desks, lab tables, or heating/AC units
8. turning on gas outlets without permission
9. using of cell phones
10. responding to the intercom when I am present
11. talking during announcements
12. improper use of the Internet

FAILURE TO ADHERE TO THE ABOVE WILL RESULT IN WRITING OF SENTENCES, PHONE CALLS TO PARENTS OR GUARDIANS, A DETENTION, OR A VISIT TO THE OFFICE. PERSONS PLAYING AROUND IN LAB AREAS OR OTHERWISE WILL RECEIVE AUTOMATIC DETENTIONS. DETENTIONS WILL BE ISSUED FOR FAILURE TO WEAR APRONS AND GOGGLES AT RECOMMENDED TIMES. (NO WARNINGS) WE WILL HAVE A BETTER YEAR IF EVERYONE SHOWS RESPECT TO BOTH FELLOW STUDENTS AND THE TEACHER.
