Harford County Dress Policy in Physical Education:
For safety and comfort it is required that students wear flat soled tennis shoes and shorts or comfortable pants on their assigned Physical Education days. Shoes must be athletic footwear; no rubber soled casual or slip on shoes will be permitted. Shoes must completely cover and protect the foot (no side cut-out areas are permitted). Heely’s, even with the attached plugs, are strongly discouraged from PE due to the thicker sole and heavy weight. In addition, county policy states that no jewelry may be worn during physical education class other than stud earrings. For safety and liability purposes, we cannot allow participation unless your child is properly prepared for class.
Doctor's Note:
If your child needs to sit out more than once due to an injury we request a doctor's note be sent to the nurse. The note must state when the child is able to participate again. Notice, if a follow-up appointment is needed the child will not be allowed to participate until he or she is cleared by the docotor.
