Welcome to the Cardinal Shehan Libray!

In Library your children will be utilizing skills they already have and aquiring many new ones. We will have units on Poetry, Compare and Contrast, Cause and Effect, Parts of a Book, Story Mapping, Reference Materials, and the list goes on. They will be learning about genres of literature that may appeal to them and be enocouraged to check out those types of items.  A huge undertaking will be learning the Dewey Decimal System so they will have the skills to move about the library and know which books are located where. We will be working on this several times throughout the year. Please encourage your child to read for pleasure! I look forward to working with all of the children and and parents as well.
