  Welcome

I received my nursing license (Registered Nurse) in 1991, after completing my Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) from Prince George’s Community College.    I began working as an RN at Prince George’s Hospital Center; the same hospital I was employed as a Nurse Tech prior to graduation.  I worked in the hospital setting for a total of fourteen years.  My experiences as a hospital RN ranged from Respiratory/Renal, Telemetry/CCU step-down, to NICU.  I have enjoyed my experiences working in the hospital and feel they have allotted me a very strong knowledge base.

Eleven years ago, I landed a job with Carroll County Public Schools, as a School Nurse. I began in the system as a floater nurse and after 6 months was hired to fill the RN position at Century. I thoroughly enjoy my job working with the teenage population.  Being able to spend more time with my kids was a driving force for leaving the hospital setting and taking a job with the school system.  This plan has worked wonderfully for my family.  Though I miss the patient care I provided in the hospital setting, I do not miss the hospital schedule.

My original plan was to continue my education as I worked.  However, family and children slowed this process.  As my children were getting older, I thought it was time for me to further my education.  I completed my BSN through University of Phoenix in 2006 and attained my Master’s in Nursing/Health Care Education November of 2010.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family, reading, gardening, scrap booking, cooking, basketball, and movies.  Family is a very important component of my life and being a mother is without a doubt the toughest and most rewarding job I have ever had.
